Nothing uplifts cities today more than residents’ participation in decision-making. From this perspective comes the importance of the “Suggestions and Improvements” section within the community forum, which aims to turn residents’ ideas into practical steps on the ground

This section allows every citizen to submit a proposal—no matter how simple—to improve a neighborhood, street, school, or even the level of public services. Some suggestions involve adding trash bins, widening a narrow street, lighting a dark road, or creating a children’s space in a suitable location. Others propose larger solutions such as organizing traffic flow or developing public squares.

The strength of this section lies in the fact that proposals come from people who live the problem daily, making their ideas realistic and closely aligned with residents’ needs. The forum also enables tracking each proposal, voting on it, and discussing it until it becomes a plan that can be submitted to executive bodies and community organizations

Even more encouraging is that some improvements can be implemented directly through volunteer efforts, such as cleaning campaigns, painting sidewalks, or installing guidance signs. In this way, citizens feel that they have a real impact and that their voices translate into tangible change

A culture of suggestions is a fundamental step toward participatory governance, where residents become partners in building their city rather than mere recipients of services. Every idea—no matter how small—carries within it the beginning of a major project
